New issue of Trackrecord released
Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) recently held a Staff Commendation Ceremony to thank all staff who had contributed to the successful commissioning of the Tsim Sha Tsui Extension. Over 150 representatives from 19 different sections attended the ceremony. The event is reported in the latest edition of Trackrecord, the staff newsletter of KCRC.
In another story, Trackrecord featured the recent erection of the final segment of the Lok Ma Chau Spur Line viaduct. Composed of 1,410 separate segments, the casting of all pile caps and columns of the viaduct commenced at the beginning of the year and was completed in November, setting a record in the industry. The civil construction works of the Spur Line had also past the halfway point in November, when 56% of the works was already completed.
Trackrecord also reported on the launch of KCRC’s newest advertising campaign. Featuring a team of relay athletes, the advertisement highlighted the Corporation’s efforts in expanding its network and improving its connectivity.
The same issue also revealed that a new name has been chosen for Pierhead Plaza at Tuen Mun which will undergo renovation in early 2005. “Ocean Walk” emerged as the new name for the plaza from among 80 entries received in a naming competition amongst KCRC staff.
Trackrecord, the official staff newsletter of the KCRC, is published once a month and distributed to all employees, the Corporation’s key stakeholders, senior government officials, the media and community leaders.
